Fuel-Boss Advisory: RFQ Records for Fuel Management Controllers
Use the CISA Fuel-Boss advisory to prepare RFQ records for fuel-management controllers, RTUs, communication gateways and panel spares.
CISA published ICSA-26-239-02 for All-Line Equipment Company Fuel-Boss on August 27, 2026. The advisory concerns fuel-management systems rather than a mainstream PLC family, but it is still relevant to maintenance teams that manage remote controllers, web portals, pump interfaces and communication equipment at industrial fuel, utility or fleet sites.
NANKMOS uses this type of advisory as a maintenance-record reference, not as a statement about stock, authorization or guaranteed compatibility. For an RFQ, the important work is to describe the installed controller boundary clearly enough that the requested spare, gateway, panel module or replacement accessory can be checked against the actual site configuration.
What to record around a fuel-management controller
Fuel-management equipment often sits between pump hardware, card or user authorization equipment, tank monitoring, local panels, Ethernet or cellular gateways, and a central portal. If a controller or communication module needs replacement, the buyer should not rely on a single product name. Record the cabinet location, controller version, portal or master/slave role, connected pump interface, power supply, network path and any shutdown restrictions.
For older controller platforms, firmware and software context can be as important as the printed model. If the system is tied to a legacy portal, local database, custom reporting workflow or field wiring pattern, the RFQ should state that boundary clearly before a supplier checks alternatives or compatible spare parts.
RFQ fields that reduce back-and-forth
- Controller or panel model, product version and visible hardware revision.
- Whether the unit operates as a standard, portal, master/slave or backflush-related configuration.
- Communication path, such as Ethernet gateway, cellular router, serial converter or site network connection.
- Connected field devices, including pump interface, tank monitoring, relay outputs or authorization terminals.
- Power supply and enclosure context, especially for outdoor or weatherproof cabinets.
- Required replacement boundary: complete controller, communication module, power component, panel accessory or wiring-related spare.
These fields make the inquiry more useful than a broad request such as “fuel controller needed.” They also help separate a spare-parts inquiry from a software remediation or system-upgrade discussion, which may require different plant-side approvals.
How to send a cleaner inquiry to NANKMOS
If your maintenance team is checking controller, RTU or communication spares, start with the most precise installed records available. You can review related RTU search results, compare communication module listings, browse controller-related items from the product catalog, or use the NANKMOS contact form to send model numbers and photos.
For broader maintenance planning, the Product Systems resource section can also help frame the inquiry by system boundary rather than by a single part number. Include the advisory reference only when it is relevant to your plant’s maintenance or risk-review process.
Send your part number, photos or nameplate.
Our team will verify, check availability, and reply with options within 24 hours.
